Traditional / experimental practice
Chakra · Short Ritual
The seven chakra tones from root to crown, each for a minute with its partner an octave below: a crystal bowl at the opening, a few seconds of room air between the tones, and at the close another bowl and the slow fading of the Crown tone. To hear the whole set in ten minutes. The tones come from Hans Cousto's cosmic octave set; chakra frequencies are a spiritual practice, and no scientific effect is claimed.
A traditional or spiritual practice, not a scientific claim.

Hear both at the same loudness; drag the slider to the middle and they blend.
These two sounds can't share one recipe (different tuning or effects): listen to the samples one after the other.

Frequencies and chakras
A spiritual practice from various traditions; not a scientific claim. The school behind the frequency set used is stated.
Evidence level T: Traditional/spiritual practiceWhat do we know?
- The chakra concept comes from spiritual traditions of Indian origin.
- Sets that assign frequencies to chakras vary between schools; there is no agreed list.
- The set used in the app comes from Hans Cousto's "cosmic octave" school: mostly octave multiples of periods such as the Earth's rotation, lunar phases and orbits (e.g. the Earth day, 194.18 Hz, for the root).Cousto 1987 · Cousto 2009
What don't we know?
- Evidence gapThe effect of frequencies on chakras has not been scientifically tested.
- Evidence gapThere is no evidence that transposing a period into the audible range by octaves creates any connection to that phenomenon.

A session's level is the weakest of its linked claims; it is never raised by a strong but unrelated claim.
