Stillness · The Rhythm Unravels

A soft, low pulse once a second with open chords slowly shifting above it. Over a few minutes the pulse and the chords withdraw, and a still, wide sound field takes their place. The pulse is a rhythm, not a beat: it never comes faster than once a second. A piece of sound design with no claim of any effect.

The same recipe with another seed: the raindrops, the order of the birds or the path of the chords change; the rules and evidence level stay the same.

What do you hear?
dark · continuous · tonal

2 layers, 2 sound engines; generated on this device every time it plays.

How is this sound made?

  1. Generative field−27.3 dB

Generative field · air (ambient sound generated on your device)

  2. Cluster drone−24 dB

    Cluster drone · A2 (440 Hz tuning), 5 oscillators

  • Reverb: hall, 26% mix

In the room you can listen to each layer on its own, change its settings and save it as your own recipe.

Sound is generated on this device in real time; no files are downloaded from a server. There is a 15 s fade-in at the start and a 1 min fade-out at the end.

Compare with another sound

Hear both at the same loudness; drag the slider to the middle and they blend.

Mixed in the middle, the partials of these two sounds would create an unlabelled beat (4-40 Hz): the slider crosses the middle with a short crossfade.

B: neighbours on the map

8 trials, half of them the same sound; get at least 7 right and the difference is audible. The result stays on this device.

What do we know, what don't we know?

S · Soundscape, no claim

No health or mental-effect claim at all; it is simply a soundscape.

This session isn't linked to any claim of effect.

A session's level is the weakest of its linked claims; it is never raised by a strong but unrelated claim.
