Stillness · Horizon Line

A wide, soft wind and three bowls ringing now and then at different points on the horizon: one to the left, one to the right, one straight ahead and far away. Beneath them a light drone appears over several minutes. Everything changes very slowly; listen to the space between the sounds as well. A piece of sound design with no claim of any effect.

The same recipe with another seed: the raindrops, the order of the birds or the path of the chords change; the rules and evidence level stay the same.

5 layers, 3 sound engines; generated on this device every time it plays.

How is this sound made?

  1. Wind−27 dB

Wind (ambient sound generated on your device)

  2. Drone−33 dB

    Drone · A2 (440 Hz tuning), 110 Hz

  3. Bell−24 dB

Crystal bowl · 440 Hz, pattern repeating every 95 s

  4. Bell−27 dB

  5. Bell−25 dB

Crystal bowl · 330 Hz, pattern repeating every 2 min

  • Spatial movement: sounds change position around your head; listen on headphones. This is not a binaural beat.
  • Reverb: hall, 30% mix

In the room you can listen to each layer on its own, change its settings and save it as your own recipe.

Sound is generated on this device in real time; no files are downloaded from a server. There is a 20 s fade-in at the start and a 2 min fade-out at the end.

Compare with another sound

Hear both at the same loudness; drag the slider to the middle and they blend.

In the middle the two sounds truly blend; loudness is matched.

B: neighbours on the map

8 trials, half of them the same sound; get at least 7 right and the difference is audible. The result stays on this device.

What do we know, what don't we know?

S · Soundscape, no claim

No health or mental-effect claim at all; it is simply a soundscape.

This session isn't linked to any claim of effect.

A session's level is the weakest of its linked claims; it is never raised by a strong but unrelated claim.
